Tropical Storm Bonnie: 5 am Saturday Update

Bonnie expected to weaken today.

At 5 am, the center of Tropical Storm Bonnie was about 415 miles east of Cape Hatteras, NC.  The storm is moving to the east at 12mph, and this general eastward motion is expected over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts.  Minimum central pressure is 1006 mb. Some weakening is expected, and Bonnie is forecast to degenerate to a remnant low.

The storm is not going to affect our weather in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
