Ridgeland issues wastewater overflow notice

RIDGELAND, SC (WASV) – The town of Ridgeland issued a notice Wednesday of wastewater overflowing into a nearby creek. According to Ridgeland officials significant rain and flooding from Tropical Storm Bonnie lead to the overflow problem at the  Ridgeland Wastewater Treatment Plant. An estimated 75,000 to 100,000 gallons of wastewater discharged into Captain Bill Creek. Until further notice from the Town of Ridgeland and SCDHEC, swimming and fishing in Captain Bill Creek is prohibited.
