Playtime matters for all kids, and you can use your hands to leave a special mark in Savannah.
A massive community build project is coming to the Salvation Army on Bee Road.
National Company KaBoom is partnering with Gulfstream and the Salvation Army to replace this dirt with a lot of slides and swings.
“There are a lot of parks in Savannah, but where we’re located on the Eastside to have a safe place for kids to come to is really needed. And we get kids that come to us from All over Savannah. And certainly it’s our way of making sure that they have the best place to come to,” explains Major Phil Swyers.
Community volunteers are needed for the June 5th build day.
“You start with just an area of dirt, and 7 hours later it’s a playground for kids to enjoy for a long time.
So we’re really excited and we really need some volunteers to come and help us and make this something special for the kids.”
There are 3 days for you to participate in the playground project. Prep Day 1 is Friday, June 3rd
Prep Day 2 is Saturday, June 4th, and Build day is Sunday, June 5th.
