SAN JOSE (KRON) — Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders held a midday rally in San Jose on Wednesday in hopes of swinging some of the momentum from his win in the Oregon primary.
Tuesday night’s win in Oregon was the 20th primary win for Senator Sanders. Hillary Clinton claimed victory in the Kentucky primary pushing her delegates total to 2,293 edging closer to the 2,383 delegates needed to capture the Democratic party nomination.
California’s primary is on June 7th, at stake, the most delegates of any state 475 are up for grabs. Sanders has vowed to stay in the race until the last votes have been cast despite trailing Clinton in the delegate count.
Bernie Sanders continues to appeal to younger voters. Sanders said, “what young people are telling me they understand they are the future of our country.”
Sanders is visiting Vallejo Wednesday evening.
