South Effingham Put Up a Tough Fight But Fall in Game Three

Guyton, GA – The South Effingham Mustangs faced the Loganville Red Devils in the AAAAA final four match-up. Game three was postponed due to rain on Tuesday, May 17th so fans packed the stadium today, May 18th. Coach Womack looking to head to the state finals, since it’s his last year as the Mustangs head coach. The Red Devils would start things off hot in the top of the first inning with a solo homer run and would score another run, leading 2-0. But the Mustangs get on the board in the bottom of the 4th with Turner Davis’ line drive making the score, 3-1. Then Bottom of the 5th Garrett Hodges bombs a home run over the scoreboard, cutting the lead to only one for the Red Devils, 4-3. In the bottom of the 7th the Mustangs only trail by 2 runs, however a double play would end the game losing, 5-3. The Mustangs are losing all but two of their starters on the team.
