Our Hometown: 30th Annual Gullah Festival celebrates history, heritage of West African descendants

It’s time to celebrate the tastes, sights, and sounds of the Gullah community!
Mark your calendar for May 27 through the 29 for the 30th annual Original Gullah Festival of South Carolina.

The three day event honors the unique history and heritage of the descendants of slaves who were brought to the Sea Islands from West Africa.

Enjoy arts, crafts, music, food, and fun for the entire family!

This year’s festival will also feature the movie, Circle Unbroken with Anita Singleton Prather AKA Aunt Pearlie Sue and the Gullah Kinfolk.

It takes place at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort South Carolina.
Admission is $5 for Friday, May 27; $25 for Saturday; and $20 for Sunday.
