According to the American Cancer Society, Melanoma accounts for only 1% of skin cancer cases- but causes a large majority of skin cancer deaths.
You can help raise money to support research, education and advocacy for melanoma by taking part in this weekend’s Miles for Melanoma Savannah 5K.
Last year, the event raised nearly $2 million.
The event is presented by the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute and will take place this Saturday, May 14, in Daffin Park.
Check-in and Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
The Run/Walk starts at 8:30 a.m.
The cost is $30 for Competitive (Timed) Runners… free for non-competitive runners and walkers if you sign up by Thursday, May 12 at 5:00 p.m.
Race day registration increases by $25 per person.
