CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The family of Walter Scott will hold a news conference Wednesday, May 10.
The event will take place 2 p.m. in front of the U.S. District Courthouse at 85 Broad Street in downtown Charleston.
Attorneys say the family’s availability will follow a hearing that will take place at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the courthouse.
No further information has been released on what will be discussed at the hearing.
Walter Scott was fatally shot in April 2015 during a traffic stop by former North Charleston Police Officer Michael Slager. Slager, who was held in jail since his arrest just days after the shooting, was released from custody after posting $500,000 bail.
