GREENWOOD, S.C. (WSPA) – A Greenwood man is facing charges after deputies say his mom called 911 to report he had shot his wife.
Greenwood County Sheriff’s deputies say the mom called Laurens County 911 saying her son, Joshua Glenn Hopkins, called her and said he had just shot his wife at their home on Callison Highway in Greenwood.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Monday night.
When deputies first got there, they say no one answered the door or responded to their knocking. When they looked through a window, they saw a woman laid back on a couch in the living room with blood on her forehead.
That’s when deputies went into the home. The woman was then transported to the Self Regional Emergency Room.
According to the incident report, deputies found an empty shell casing by the couch and a black revolver on the ground outside the home.
Hopkins, 40, is charged with criminal domestic violence high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
