Marietta, GA -The Savannah Christian senior, Demetris Robertson finally chose where he is going to play college football today, Sunday May 1st.
“I’ve decided to take my talents to the University of California Berkeley, thank you,” says Robertson. He will be playing under head coach, Sonny Dykes. Robertson decided to pass on offers that he had received from Georgia, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Alabama.
During his senior year as a receiver for the Raiders, Robertson had more than 1,000 all purpose yards, including 126 receiving yards, 9 rushing touchdowns and 107 carries. After four years, Robertson finished with 1,475 total yards.
Robertson spoke on why he chose Cal and says, “An education which was a big part of my decision and I wanted to keep that foundation and you know when I went there it felt like home, and I mean the coach me and the coaching staff have a great relationship. Really ever since I was a kid I always wanted to live in California and be out there and experience something different cause I’m a Georgia Bulldog, I been around here a lot and my family has been in Georgia for so long.”
Although Bulldogs’ fans were let down today, Robertson still appreciated the coaches and staff through this process.
