SCMPD needs your help finding commercial burglar

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Islands Precinct investigators identified David Standfill, 47, of Savannah as the suspect in the burglaries of a car wash on the 2000 block of Victory Drive and of Cohen’s Retreat on the 5700 block of Skidaway Road. Also, surveillance footage linked Standfill to an auto repair shop burglary on the 2300 block of Skidaway Road reported on April 28.
Friday, April 29 a citizen’s tip led Islands Precinct investigators to 36th Street and Skidaway Road after spotting Standfill. Investigators responded to the area, taking Standfill into custody, then transporting him to the Islands Precinct where he confessed.  
Standfill is charged with three counts of  burglary. He was transported to Chatham County Detention Center without incident.
Church burglaries occurring between April 1 and April 26, on the 6800 and 7200 blocks of Skidaway Road, 2300 block of Sunset Boulevard and the 5100 block of Laroche Avenue remain under investigation.
