Our Hometown: Savannah Spoken Word Festival wraps up this weekend

Now in its 10th year, the Savannah Spoken Word Festival wraps up this weekend. The 6-day celebration is held In conjunction with National Poetry Month.

Saturday, April 30, Savannah’s most talented young poets go head to head during a Youth Poetry Slam beginning at 11 am at Foxy Loxy Cafe (1919 Bull Street).

The event is open to area elementary and high school students who will compete for a cash prize.

The festival closes with Spitfire Saturdays Open Mic and Showcase at 8 pm at the Muse Arts Warehouse (703 Louisville Rd). Admission is $10.
