Fights erupt during Protests at Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga (WSAV-TV) – Hundreds of people turned out for a planned “pro-white” rally at Stone Mountain just north of Atlanta.

Many people were there to protest the rally, not to support it.

Tensions ran high, leading Stone Mountain State Park to shut down after the competing rallies began to clash.
At least eight counter-protesters were arrested in the morning for refusing to take their masks off.

Stone Mountain’s park police say several protesters engaged in physical confrontations with officers in riot gear.
the park says normal operations will resume tomorrow.
