If you live in Chatham County you will you make your vote count this election season?
It’s time to focus on Savannah-Chatham County School Board members.
They are elected by voters in their district, but they represent the entire community.
Two seats will be on the ballot in May. The candidates for District 3 are Connie Hall and Rose Harper.
In District 7, the candidates are Joe Winburn and Michael Johnson.
You can learn more about them at a forum sponsored by Armstrong State University next week.
The stakes are high as the public wants to see the district continue to improve. I talked to one of the organizers of the forum about why he says getting to know these candidates is critical.
“These are the people who set our mileage rate who affect our taxes. ESPLOST is going to be coming back around and whether or not ESPLOST passes how we spend money. We’re talking about hundreds of millions of dollars that are going to be spent in the community making these positions incredibly important not just for the students we educate, but for the entire community”, explains Ned Rinalducci.
