MLK Observance Day Association keeps the dream alive through scholarships

April 4, 2016 marks 48 years since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.

Tonight, Savannah’s MLK Observance Day Association will honor the legacy of the late civil rights leader by investing in our future.

The association will award five area college bound high school seniors with scholarships  during a ceremony tonight at Savannah State University.

Organizers say the recipients excel at school and give back to their community. They are exemplary individuals in academics, conduct, and leadership.
