Lyons woman found with over $3,000 in counterfeit bills

LYONS, Ga. – Investigators with both the Lyons and Vidalia Police Departments arrested a woman for counterfeiting thousands of dollars in Lyons, Georgia.

Police say 38-year-old Bobbi Nicole Fountain was stopped by the Vidalia Police Department after they say she passed off some counterfeit money at the Captain’s Corner restaurant in Vidalia.

A search warrant was obtained for Fountain’s apartment on Skyline Boulevard and there they found $3,247 counterfeit dollars in assorted denominations.  They also found methamphetamine.

Fountain is now facing 15 counts of first degree forgery and 80 counts of second degree forgery, as well as drug charges.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and other parties are believed to be involved.
