Stray bullet hits SCAD building, suspect sought

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah Police are investigating an aggravated assault where a bullet ended up in one of Savannah College of Art and Design’s buildings.

It happened on Wednesday around 10:45am.  Police say a 27-year-old man was walking through a courtyard in Fred Wessel Homes when another man walked up to him with a gun.  The victim tried to walk pass the gunman when he opened fire.

Investigators say several shots were fired and one of the bullets ended up in a SCAD building in the 500 block of East Broughton Street.

No injuries were reported and the intended victim made it away safely.

Investigators are trying to find the gunman.  Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020.
