PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. – Lt. Col. Joshua Kissoon was relieved of command after in investigation by the Inspector General of the Marine Corps.
The decision was made by Col. Paul D. Cucinotta, the commanding officer of the Recruit Training Regiment on March 17th.
Officials at Parris Island say allegations of misconduct lead to the investigation.
Kissoon assumed command in June of 2014.
Officials released the following statement in regards to the decision:
“The Marine Corps remains highly committed to ensuring that all who seek the title “Marine” are provided with leaders and instructors who represent our core values of honor, courage and commitment. As an institution, we hold all Marines, especially commanders, to a high set of standards.”
