Seriously impressive isn’t just a slogan for some Savannah State University students. Several of them are giving up their spring break this week to make a difference in communities around the world.
Ten students are currently in Washington, D.C., volunteering- working in service projects related to hunger, homelessness and youth development. Another group of ten students is in Haiti working with orphanages, planting cocoa trees and assisting with sustainable energy installations. A dozen students are also in Trinidad & Tobago volunteering in orphanages and women’s shelters.
Students began their alternative trip Sunday, March 6. It comes to an end Saturday, March 12.
