CHATHAM COUNTY, GA (WSAV-TV) – Contractors for Georgia DOT will close lanes for highway striping on US 80/SR 26 starting today through Wednesday from 8 A.M. until 7 P.M.
All work is weather contingent. This striping operations should occur between Bull River Bridge and Battery Drive with new striping configuration on westbound travel lanes before Lazaretto Creek Bridge.
The new striping should enhance safety and reduce traffic from bottlenecking at the bridge.
Drivers should reduce speeds and use caution until motorists are familiar with the new striping. Motorists could experience delays in this area.
Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
