Earthquake in New Zealand Collapses Cliffs near Christchurch

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck New Zealand around 1pm (local time) on Valentine’s Day.

 

Cliffs collapsed into the ocean in the suburb of Sumner, but thankfully, no serious damage or fatalities were reported.

 

The earthquake lasted less than 30 second.

 

This earthquake happened only days before the fifth anniversary of a deadly earthquake that killed 185 people.
