Savannah, Ga (WSAV) – A second arrest has been made in the shooting death of former Savannah basketball standout, Jibri Bryan. According to The Telegraph newspaper, the suspected gunman who fired the fatal shot was 33-year-old Damion Henderson. Henderson was arrested Friday night at a Decatur apartment complex near Memorial Drive on Atlanta’s east side, the newspaper reports.
Bryan was a standout player at Benedictine School in Savannah and went on to play guard at Mercer University. He was shot in the head outside a Flash Food convenience store Tuesday afternoon in Macon. Jarvis C. Miller, 24, was arrested soon after the shooting. Investigators believe Miller fired at Bryan but that Henderson is the one who killed Bryan.
No motive has been released.
A fund has been set up to benefit Bryan’s son.
Bryan’s funeral arrangements have been set for Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah, GA 31406.
