BCSO Investigating Armed Robbery in Bluffton

Bluffton, SC (WSAV) – According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, two women were robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon at the Parker’s on Fording Island Road in Bluffton.

At about 12:45 p.m., the women were putting air in a tire in the gas station’s rear parking lot when two males armed with handguns robbed the women of several personal items.

An officer from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources happened to be in the parking lot at the time, saw what was going on and was able to immediately apprehend one of the armed subjects.

The other subject fled on foot toward Malphrus Road, Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators searched but were unable to find him.

He is described as an African American male, 5’7″ and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, yellow pants and had a red bandana covering his face. He isstill on the loose and considered armed and dangerous.

The man in custody has been identified as 18-year-old Drevon Robinson of Garnett, South Carolina.

He has been charged with robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon in commission of violent crime.

Robinson and the unidentified male subject were seen getting out of a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) prior to the robbery.  The driver of the SUV left the area and may have been waiting to pick them up nearby.
