Hinesville Stable After Being Hit by Car Friday Evening

HINESVILLE, GA (WSAV) A Hinesville man attempting to cross East Oglethorpe highway in Hinesville was struck by a vehicle and injured.

According to Hinesville Police Department Traffic Accident Investigator, Michael Ramirez the accident occurred around 10:46 pm at the intersection of East Oglethorpe highway and Hendry St. According to Ramirez the female driver of the vehicle who was driving a 2015 Corolla Toyota, said the man was walking on the sidewalk when he suddenly darted in front of her vehicle.

The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side mirror which could be seen hanging. The man fell to the ground and blood was seen coming from his head, it is not know the extent of his injuries.

Ramirez said the man who is a Hinesville resident was flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, he is in stable condition.

The accident is under investigation, however Ramirez does not expect any citations to be issued.
