(Savannah, GA)- Starting today, a number of Savannah Chatham County Public Schools will help support victims of local disasters by participating in the 9th Annual “Dollars for Disasters Week.” Proceeds of the fundraising event will benefit the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia.
The campaign, sponsored by Domino’s, will run January 25 through January 29.
The winning class in each participating school will receive a pizza party, courtesy of Domino’s.
The kick off will be held this morning at 9 at West Chatham Middle School located at 800 Pine Barren Rd. in Pooler.
According to the American Red Cross, residential fires are still their number one response. While it is the mission of the Red Cross to provide support and emergency financial assistance to many of its clients, the agency says it can’t do it alone.
Last year, the campaign raised more than $15,000- which allowed the Red Cross to help many families affected by disaster.
