2015 was the Earth’s warmest year ever.
According to NASA and NOAA scientists, the Earth’s temperature broke the previous record by 0.23 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s the second largest yearly jump since record keeping began in 1880.
The Earth’s average temperature is now 1.8 degrees warmer than it was in the late 19th century.
2015’s temperature increase was fueled in part by El Nino and several weather events, including heat waves, drought and wildfires.
The bad news in all of this… scientists predict this year will be at least as warm as last year.
