MLK Day is one of service for many across the country.
Georgia Power honors Dr. King’s commitment to transform communities through volunteering by engaging more than 1,000 employees in community service projects across the state.
In the Savannah area, volunteers will gather at the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club on Charlton Street from 8 a.m. to noon today- painting, landscaping, pressure washing, removing trees and organizing the library.
Immediately following the parade, Feed the Hungry will hold its 7th Annual MLK Community Dinner at the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club.
The event will feature a free hot meal, free bags of produce, and live entertainment.
