Steven Avery, the man sentenced to serve life in prison for the murder of Teresa Halbach, has filed a new appeal in Wisconsin on Jan. 11. He filed a motion to be released on bond.

According to Court Records obtained by WSAV Affiliate WBAY, the anticipated due date is Feb. 11, 2016.

Avery has also recently secured new legal representation. A representative from attorney Kathleen Zellner’s office in Downers Grove, Illinois says Zellner met with Avery on Monday.

Avery is the subject of the Netflix Original series Making a Murderer and served 18 years in prison for rape before DNA evidence exonerated him.
