White-out conditions on I-70 in Indiana caused a pile-up involving nine tractor trailers and four cars.
The crash happened before 11am today, just outside of Richmond, Indiana. Authorities say that the pile-up was caused by a semi driving too fast for the conditions. Local and state police in Indiana have responded to dozens of slide-offs and crashes throughout the day.
Much of the state has been placed under a winter weather advisory. The National Weather Service says snow and wind could cause poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions.
There were no life-threatening injuries as a result of the multi-vehicle pile up on I-70, but three people were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The most serious injury was a broken leg.
