Savannah’s City Council is out of the closed door session. First meeting of new council is underway.
After three hours, council members are still behind closed doors in an executive session.
No word on what is being discussed. But there are assertions from one council member that it may be the tenure of City Manager Stephanie Cutter. Mayor Eddie Deloach, who has been in the job for two days, reportedly lined up enough votes to remove Cutter. But again, no official word on what is going on. There have been a number of attorneys (civil) seen upstairs near the meeting room and both the city attorney and assistant city attorney have been inside with council members, the assistant city attorney just briefly.
On the first meeting of the new Mayor and Savannah City Council, members adjourned immediately into an executive session.
Issues have been raised about the future of city manager Stephanie Cutter.
There is also word that there may be internal issues of who will be Mayor Pro Tem and Chairman of the council under the new administration.
