Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire about 60 deputy corrections officers in Savannah with the help of Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL).
The job fair will take place Wednesday, January 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the GDOL Savannah Career Center. The building is located at 5520 White Bluff Road, according to a news release sent out by Peter Nichols, Public Information Officer.
Veterans are encouraged to apply, with salaries ranging from $33,841, non-certified peace officers, to $34,518 for certified peace officers, annually.
To apply you must be at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and the ability to complete the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Counsel certification.
Veterans should bring their U.S. Department of Defense DD214 form to the event.
A pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, drug screening test and physical fitness test will be conducted as well by the employer for the selected applicants.
