UPDATE: River Flood Warnings

RIVER FLOOD WARNING: In effect for portions of the Altamaha and Savannah rivers. Previous heavy rain combined with additional rainfall ahead will cause significant runoff into streams and rivers…leading to flooding in areas.

ALTAMAHA RIVER: At Baxley. At 7:45 PM Sunday the stage was 75.3 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 74.5 feet. Forecast…The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by early Tuesday morning.

ALTAMAHA RIVER: At Everett City. At 7:15 PM Sunday the stage was 14.1 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 12.0 feet. Forecast…The river will continue to fall to a stage of 13.5 feet by Tuesday morning.

SAVANNAH RIVER: At Burton’s Ferry. At 8 PM Sunday the stage was 18.2 feet. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. Forecast, the river will remain nearly steady or slowly fall.

SAVANNAH RIVER: At Clyo. At 8 PM Sunday the stage was 17.5 feet. Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring. Forecast, the river will continue to fall.

If you live along these rivers please monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take necessary action to protect life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you see flood waters, remember to turn around and don’t drown.
