While we have near-record highs in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, a few spots across the country are enjoying more winter-like weather.
In California, new snow is delightful for skiers and snowboarders. It’s also making travel frightful for drivers in Northern California. In the High Sierra, several kids enjoyed the final day of their weekend sledding down hills and building snowmen in the fresh powder.
But plows were busy clearing the roads.
Traffic was slow and slick for drivers heading up the mountains. Drivers used chain controls on their tires for much of the day. Forecasters are predicting the snowfall to continue into the week. Above six thousand feet, up to two feet of new snow is expected.
