A race to raise awareness is right around the corner.
Runners are gearing up for this Saturday’s Reindeer Run- which benefits the Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire. The 6th annual event takes place this Saturday, December 19, at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center with activities for the entire family.
The morning begins with a kiddie race at 8:45, followed by the 8K at 9:45 am. Runners are encouraged to dress as their favorite holiday characters.
WSAV’s Ben Senger is one of four Celebrity Runners challenged to raise $4,000 in advance of the race. You can donate to his campaign here: http://www.runsignup.com
Proceeds from the Reindeer Run will support the Prevention Education program at the Rape Crisis Center, which offers healthy relationship resources and training for local schools, colleges and organizations, including Good-Touch/Bad-Touch, Anti-Bully, Safe Dates, and Sexual Harassment curriculum.
Registration is $35 through December 18th. $40 the day of the race.
Registration for kids 12 to 17 is $20.
