Metro Investigating Fatal Skidaway Road Shooting

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Skidaway Road that took the life of Michael Holmes, 33.

Metro responded to the scene close to 10 a.m. this morning where they found Holmes suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Memorial University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

It is believed, according to a news release by Eunicia Baker, that Holmes and an unidentified male suspect had an altercation that led to the suspect shooting Holmes and fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, medium brown complexion, clean-shaven face and dreadlocks that fall past his shoulders. He is stocky in build, around 6′, weighing about 160.

During the incident the suspect wore a hooded Army fatigue jacket, khaki pants, and black shoes.
