“Operation Warm-up” is a program developed this year by Mike Covert, of Covert Aire, as his way of giving back to the community.
“Giving back to the community, that’s what we’re supposed to do. And you know with the problems that the world is seeing, I mean its all over the news 24/7, this is one little piece of good, and we need more good and less bad.”
And that good, for Covert, is offering free help in fixing heating and ac units. His goal, to help people so they aren’t worried about staying warm this holiday.
Through Saturday, the company will be taking applications from area families in order to get help with their systems. Technicians will come out and help with anything from valve fixes to complete overhauls. And as for Covert, he says this is just a small thing he can do to help.
“Heating and air conditioning is not a cheap thing, and it has to be maintained, it has to be repaired, or it will fail. Unfortunately the ones that really pull at your heart are those that don’t have any heat, and are suffering with life’s maladies, that happen. those are the really tough ones.”
Covert is offering help to people in the greater Savannah area, meaning Georgia and Beaufort and Jasper counties.
He says unfortunately they cant help everyone but he’s doing his best to help those who really are in need. If you’d like to apply for help, go to.covertaire.com and fill out the “contact” form with your story.
