Athens, GA – Head Coach Mark Richt and Athletic Director Greg McGarity held a news conference on Monday, November 30th. More questions were answered that had many people wondering; when did McGarity come to this decision? What will Richt do now? McGarity said he came to the decision to fire Richt, after the Georgia-Georgia Tech. The Dogs did win 13-7, but McGarity ultimately decided to let Richt go after 15 seasons. Richt did say that he has been offered an opportunity to stay and work at Georgia, but they did not go into further detail. He says he is just happy that he can stay and still coach “the guys” one more time for the Bowl game.
