Save the Monarchs

They’re a majestic flutter of life…  and the perfect addition to any lawn or garden.  We’re talking about the Monarch Butterfly.

Populations of this beautiful insect have significantly decreased over the last 20 years, but new efforts are being done to save the Monarch.

There’s also a decrease in milk weed, which is a plant that’s the sole source of food for Monarch caterpillars.  Experts are asking all of us to help.  You can buy milkweed seeds or even plants now at a lot of nurseries.

The Monarchs start to migrate back to the Upper Midwest at the end of winter and arrive in early May in Minnesota.
