Local churches provide free groceries to families for the holidays

(Savannah, GA) – A pair of local churches in the ‘We Must Do Something’ (WMDS) movement are hoping to make a difference in our community through random acts of kindness.

Today, leaders and members of Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship and Growing in Grace Ministries will come together to provide groceries to 30 families during a pre-Thanksgiving outreach initiative.

From noon to 2 pm at Red & White Foods on Ogeechee Road, members of both congregation will randomly select shoppers to receive free turkeys, hams, and trimmings for a Thanksgiving meal.

Pastor Charles P. Roberson of Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship says, the goal is to promote unity and hope in the community through acts of kindness from strangers.  “We hope efforts like these will build more alliances and community partnerships toward reaching our goal of building one Savannah,” Roberson says.
