Google’s driverless car got pulled over by police recently for going too SLOW. It was traveling 10mph under the speed limit.
Environmentally friendly yet environmentally slow?
It all happened in California, and the Google+ company posted it all on its website.
Along with a photo of the incident, the caption read… “Driving too slowly? Bet humans don’t get pulled over for that too often.”
At first, the officer didn’t realize it was a self-driving vehicle.
Google caps the speed of its self-driving cars at 25mph for safety reasons.
California law allows self-driving cars on the roads with speed limits of 35mph or slower. So the officer talked to the occupant of the vehicle about how it was impeding traffic.
Google+ released this statement: “After 1.2 million miles of autonomous driving (that’s the human equivalent of 90 years of driving experience), we’re proud to say we’ve never been ticketed!”
