Metro Launches Death Investigation

According to a news release by Eunicia Baker, the Violent Crimes detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the death of an unidentified adult female.

The body was found inside of a residence near Mad Turkey Crossing and Romerly Road on Friday in the early afternoon.

The woman was discovered when Metro officers were conducting a welfare check at the residence.

An autopsy is being done by Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab to determine the cause of death.

Metro’s Violent Crimes detectives, patrol officers, Forensics Unit and Animal Control responded to the scene. The Chatham County Coroner also responded.
