Real men read books! That’s the message Haven Elementary is sending to its students. In an effort to promote literacy, the school is hosting its “Real Men Read” initiative.
Educators recognize children are reading less and as a result, their education is suffering.
Haven is trying to reach their most reluctant readers- male students, by inviting men from our community to read to the children.
The annual campaign kicked off Wednesday and runs through today from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. Reading sessions are every thirty minutes.
Books will be provided or volunteers can bring their favorite to share.
Interested male readers may sign up in the main office or contact Dr. Lily Benson-Jaja at: (912) 395-6501.
