Actor and Politician Fred Thompson Dies

Former U.S. Senator and Republican Presidential Candidate Fred Thompson died on Sunday from a recurrence of lymphoma, his family said Sunday in a statement.  The father of two was born in Alabama in 1942, and led a varied career.
Thompson was an attorney, lobbyist, radio show host and politician.   He served as a U.S. Senator from Tennessee for eight years, and ran for President in 2008.
Many will remember him from his acting career.
Thompson appeared in nearly 20 movies like “In the Line of Fire” and “Die Hard Two”… and had a role in the long-running t-v show “Law and Order.”
Fred Thompson was 73-years-old.
