Local elementary school raises money to help children in Africa

Students at May Howard Elementary raised $2,000 dollars to help build a new kitchen for a school in Northern Uganda.

The students collected the funds by holding a bake sale, dress down day, coin drive, and selling Pap Murphy’s Pizza discount cards.

The check was presented in Thursday’s Student Council Meeting.  The Student Council partnered with Women Leading Change a nonprofit company that builds schools to educate girls in sub-Saharan Africa.
