Roads Washed Out, Residents Evacuated in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Firefighters evacuated more than a dozen people from Winyah Apartments in Georgetown, SC overnight.

Water rose more than 3 feet on Duke and Lynch Streets damaging cars and several apartments.

People living there say they weren’t expecting firefighters to tell them to pack up and leave.

Several roads across the area have been impacted by the heavy rains.

Law Plantation Road in Darlington County had a 30 foot section wiped-out by heavy rains Friday night.

Roads along the Grand Strand have experienced flooded areas as well.
