(NBC) Honda is recalling 143-thousand of its vehicles in the u-s to fix a software problem that could cause the front wheels to lock up.
The recall covers the Honda Civic from model years 2014 and 2015… as well as the 2015 model of Honda’s smallest car… the Honda Fit.
Honda says the software was programmed in a way that exposes the drive pulley shaft to more stress than it was built to handle.
The automaker says no crashes or injuries have been linked to the issue.
Recall notices are expected to be sent to affected owners in mid-October.
Last month, Honda also recalled about 18 thousand Honda Fits from the 2015 model year due to an engine component that can degrade and cause the engine to stall.
