Two Die in Three-vehicle Accident

A fatal three-vehicle wreck occurring this evening is now under investigation by Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.

Police say the wreck claimed the lives of Rashan Floyd, 29, of Savannah and Shannon Lovelace, 33, of Beaufort, SC. It happened at the intersection of White Bluff Road and Posey Street just before 5:30 p.m.

Authorities say Floyd was traveling southbound on White Bluff Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Gray Ford Mustang. The Mustang crossed the median, colliding with a blue Chevrolet Cruze driven by Lovelace. The impact caused the Mustang to collide with Lakerra Wesley’s Buick sedan. Floyd was ejected from his vehicle.

Floyd and Lovelace died at the scene. Lovelace’s passengers, Christina Mullen, 29, and Linsay Trezevant, 30, were transported to Memorial University Medical Center in serious condition.

MAIT continues to investigate.
