A chorus of raised voices can have a great affect on the community.
As we follow footsteps representing 2014’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk a new addition this year will elevate awareness.
The American Cancer Society and Oglethorpe Mall are teaming up for an inspiring event to honor survivors.
Faces of Breast Cancer will celebrate people who have battled the disease.
A $500 donation from you, a business, or a strides team will pay for featuring a survivor as one of the Faces of Breast Cancer.
“They’ll have a 24 by 36 story board with the survivors picture on it and their story of their breast cancer journey in their own words, explains Tory Culpepper.
You can check out the stories in Oglethorpe Mall in October and at Ellis Square for the Making Strides Walk on October 10th.
Money will go toward research and patient services programs to support survivors in our community.
“We’ve got our Look,Good Feel Better program which is a free program for survivors with licensed cosmetologists, and they teach women to use cosmetics to offset the side effects of treatments. We also have our Road to Recovery program that provides free rides for patients to and from treatment.”
The donations will also be used for research and education programs.
September 23rd is the deadline for applications.
