On Saturday morning (and into the early afternoon), several children and their parents filled Forsyth Park for the 7th Annual Healthy Kids Walk and Wellness Fair.
As they walked around the park, parents and their kids learned more about how to lead a healthy lifestyle and how to create healthy food alternatives at home.
The event was hosted by a local organization called YFACE, which stands for ‘Youth For A Cleaner Environment.’
Some members of the Savannah High School band got the walk started, leading walkers of all ages around the path of Forsyth Park.
There were also dance performances, a hula hoop contest, health screenings, and the how-to-cook-healthy food demonstrations.
Janice James, the founder of YFACE said hosting events like this is just the start to ending childhood obesity.
