If you’re going to be out on the roads this weekend, The Georgia Department of Transportation wants you to be aware of ramp closures on both Interstate 95 and Interstate 16. There are four ramps that are scheduled to be closed, but each one is scheduled to be closed one at a time. Work started at 9:00 p.m. Friday night and will continue through 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The ramps will be closed as GDOT crews work to improve the roadways by grinding the concrete surface to create a smooth roadway for motorists. The Georgia Department of Transportation says the schedule could be subject to change if weather affects their work.
The department also want to remind drivers to take extreme caution while driving in ‘work zone’ areas.Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones.
